The County Attorney's responsibilities are to serve as the legal counsel for county government. The County Attorney represents the county and county officials when they are named as parties in legal actions, and to attend Fiscal Court meetings. The County Attorney also prosecutes violations of the criminal law within the jurisdiction of the district court. Other duties include cold checks, delinquent taxes, and child support.
